It has emerged the sons of footballing greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are separated in age by 869 days – the exact same age difference that exists between their fathers.
Real Madrid star Ronaldo, 27, is two years older than 25-year-old Barcelona playmaker Messi and both are among the world's best footballers, with Messi widely acknowledged to top the list.
Ronaldo senior arrived in the world on February 5, 1985 and Messi was born a couple years later on June 24, 1987.
It seems that if age is anything to go by then Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Junior, may suffer the same fate of being second best as his father does.
Messi's long term partner Antonella Roccuzzo gave birth to Thiago on Friday November 2, 2012, while little Ronaldo was born on June 17, 2010.
The bizarre age coincidence was revealed on Twitter.
@Shambles_11 wrote on the social network: 'Ronaldo and Messi born 869 days apart, their sons also born 869 days apart.
'That is one crazy coincidence.' @waleedabunada was also amazed, he added: 'Cristiano Ronaldo is 869 days older than Lionel Messi.
'Cristiano Jr is 869 older than Thiago Messi. Mind = blown.'
